ABOUT WOMEN OF THE WILD WEST
Exquisite seamsmanship, attention to details and an abundance of Montana pride by a unique group of Montana ranch women comprise the core of Women of the Wild West.
Pate Stetson, former designer at Vogue and Harpers Bazaar and married to a Montana rancher for over 20 years, founded Women of the Wild West when she discovered several extraordinary things about Montana ranch women. Read more about Pate . . .
The women come from a long line of extremely skilled and talented seamstresses who sew everything from shirts to coats for their families. Their finished goods are impeccable and impressive down to the finest details.
But that's not all! These Montana ranch women are an integral part of the day to day ranch operations performing double duty as highly competent ranch hands. As an example, one seamstress spent her summer running from the sewing machine to the baler producing over 50 superb riding skirts and a fine crop of hay!
Women of the Wild West is proud to provide a second income to the struggling ranching industry and be a major supporter of high quality Montana labor.
Our standards are high, from running a calving/lambing operation to making certain our seams are straight and materials used are the best. This is what sets Women of the Wild West apart from other manufacturers, why our quality is superb and our prices reflect the upscale workmanship.
We encourage you to think "crossover" as you browse our products and see the possibilities for mixing our unique creations with those of other designers. Although some creations have originated in western history, they are definitely not just "western" or to be worn just this way. Our fancy riding skirts are absolutely dynamic with Italian designer jackets from New York City to the streets of San Francisco. This is how our customers choose to wear the Women of the Wild West collection and turn many heads in the process. There are no limits as to where and how our creations can be worn.
