Iceman Red Hickory, affectionately known as “Friday” is a 5 year old sorrel gelding with a heart of gold and personality that makes everyone smile. Gentle, kind, and broke, Friday is the type of horse who will take care of you and give you confidence every time you swing a leg over. He’ll show fancy and slow in a western pleasure class or work cattle all day long. He’s as dependable as they come, with the ability to look fancy and slow in a western pleasure class one day and turn around and work cattle all day the next. He is the definition of a true all-around horse.

Friday has seen it all. His resume includes ranch work, lessons, polo, jumping, trail riding, and this beautiful gelding has been used to doctor calves out in the field, push cattle down the alley, and has been started roping out of the box. He has also been used by a collegiate polo club to safely introduce beginners to both riding and polo, and he’s earned the love of many young riders through lessons. He will pick you up from the mounting block, trailer fender, log, or fence and is the same honest horse whether you’re hopping on for a short ride or a long day of work. 

Friday learns right alongside his rider and genuinely wants to please. He has a big, sweet personality and is the kind of horse who will meet you at the gate, ready for a treat and a good day’s work. Friday has seen and done it all. He’s been to town and is safe around traffic, dogs, crowds, and other horses. You can pack a flag, drag the tarp, push and bounce his ball, or pull a log with this special boy- approaching every task and obstacle with a willing, calm attitude. Friday is a complete gentleman and is ready to get any job done. He’s a trusty and smart mount that we look forward to riding every day.

Under saddle, Friday is smooth, correct, and comfortable. He offers a slow jog and natural, balanced lope. He moves willingly off leg, collects nicely, and set up for a big, confident stop. Whether you want to head out on the ranch, school in the arena, or enjoy a relaxing trail ride, Friday is always ready to go. He is polished, well-tuned, and perfectly suited for ranch riding, ranch trail, or all-around show classes. Ride him bareback in a halter and he’s the same honest horse every single day.
